Open Factory Initiative

Build with the community.

Open Factory Initiative needs technical contributors, manufacturing expertise, research collaboration, responsible partners, advisors, and mission-aligned funding.

Site-specific onboarding path

Manufacturing, quality, automation, validation, and AI contributors can help define how a site maps assets, procedures, terminology, data sources, and governance requirements into the Factory Intelligence Platform.

AI/ML evaluation path

Help define careful SLM/LLM evaluation workflows, RAG-before-fine-tuning patterns, model governance records, refusal behavior checks, and evidence-grounded decision-support tests.

Quality and validation path

Contribute practical CSV/CSA, validation-aware documentation, risk classification, intended-use, audit evidence, and human-review workflow input.

Researcher path

Collaborate on governed AI, factory context modeling, open manufacturing infrastructure, cybersecurity, software assurance, and human-centered decision support.

Funder and partner path

Support public-benefit open-source software for manufacturing transparency, resilience, and responsible AI adoption.

Advisory involvement

Provide practical input on manufacturing needs, validation-readiness, cybersecurity boundaries, nonprofit governance, community building, and technical roadmap priorities.
